Drawing inspiration from a family vinyl collection that spans half a century of music across virtually every genre, East produces a sound that blends the smooth, soulful vibe of Portland with raw, poetic lyrics grounded in the hustle and grind of everyday life. After winning the NorthWest Edition Coast2Coast Showcase in July 2013, East represents the very best of the up and coming hip-hop but forever humble, and constantly working on his craft, he’ll tell you that he’s just heating up.
